Maidstone Scores Quickly

The teams for the match were late but the clock was running and by the time the teams were on the field, three minutes went by. We had a nice turn out of about 75 spectators with the temperature in the 50's and a over cast night, a great fall night to play soccer. Once the match started, Maidstone came out strong and within the first two minutes of play, Maidstone was able to score. Luis Correa had the ball and passed it off to Gehider Garcia. Garcia was standing next to the goal so he had an easy time scoring the first goal.

Play continued with both sides taking shots but Maidstone was able to score again at the 21st minute of the match. This time Luis Correa from inside the goalie box blasted the ball into the net.

Just before the first half would end, Tuxpan was given a direct kick. Estuardo Larios would take the kick. Larios fired the ball toward the near post. It could be heard that the ball hit the net but did it hit it on the inside or outside. Tuxpan believed the ball went into the goal and out a hole in the net. Maidstone believed it hit the outside of the goal. The net was checked but no holes were found but the ball was outside the goal. The referee ruled it was a no goal.

Maidstone Controls the Half

During the second half of play, Maidstone had control of the match. ED-Tuxpan had no effective offensive drive. Tuxpan would play up which gave Maidstone a chance to score. This time 13 minutes into the second half Correa gets the ball near the mid field line inside the Tuxpan half. Correa dribbles down the field is able to fake out the Tuxpan goalie and shoot into an empty net.

After that goal, it was over for Tuxpan and Maidstone could not wait for the clock to run out. With this win, Maidstone has won seven championships in a row. How long will it continue?
