Maidstone Takes Early Lead

For the championship game, two 30 minute halves would be played. Both sides were attacking but Bateman Painting lacked an effective offensive drive. They were short on forwards and Maidstone always had the numbers on defense. On one play, Juan Zuluaga of Bateman Painting fires the ball into the goalie box of Maidstone Market were team mate, Rafael Santos was standing. Santos gets control of the ball to fire it into a Maidstone defender.

(13th Minute) Julian Barahoma gets the ball at 25 yard mark inside the Bateman half. Barahoma starts to dribble toward the goal and is able to fake out Gonzalo Presedo and fire a waist high 18 yard shot into the far side net to give his team the lead.

Minutes later Mario Olaya is right in front of the Bateman goal with the ball(see photo). Olaya fires the ball but into the hands of Cristian Rios, as he dives to block the shot. Olaya minutes later had another chance to score on a direct kick. Olaya fires the ball to the far side goal post. Going for the ball was Rios and Barahoma. Both men colide with Rios able to punch the ball out of danger.

Many Chances in Front of the Bateman Goal

During the second half of play, Bateman offensive drive was lacking. It was worse then during the first half of play. Maidstone had a chance to score again when the ball is fired right in front of the Bateman goal to Esteban Valverde. Rios of Bateman comes out to block the shot and is able to dislodge the ball from Valverde to the side. Right next to the ball is Jefferson Ramirez who hits the ball wide to the right from about 4 yards out. A missed goal.

(59th Minute) With a minute left in the match, with Bateman pressing hard, Maidstone Market is given a direct kick about 17 yards from the Bateman goal. Carlos Barahoma would take the kick and blast it into the top far right inside corner of the net. The ball hit the inside rear post and bounced back into play. A great goal for Maidstone and with that, the fall championship goes to Maidstone Market.
