Player Penalties and Infractions:
- The referee is always right and shall be treated with respect.
- A yellow or red card as the referee sees fit will follow disrespectful conduct.
- Physical violence directed towards the referee will result in ejection from the league forever.
- Any team whose conduct prompts the town of East Hampton to reprimand the league will be ejected from the league
- Any player or team whose conduct on or off the field threatens the welfare of any players, teams, or the existence of the league
will be barred from playing in this league permanently. Such a decision will be made by unanimous vote of all club representatives,
excluding the team involved.
Fans:
- If team's fans come on the field for any reason the game is over and that team loses by forfeit.
- If a team's fan harasses or threaten the referee, the referee will give a warning to the team manager to tell the fan to stop his harassing action.
If the fan still continues with his harassing action, the referee will give a red card to the fan and ask the fan to leave the field. If the fan does not abide with the referee's request, the team that fan was from will forfeit the game.
- If a spectator starts to harasses or threaten the referee, the referee will give a warning to the the spectator. If the spectator continues with his action, then other measures will be taken.
Fighting:
- Fighting: A situation where two or more players are throwing punches or use their feet to cause injury to their opponent. A push(unless
it causes serious injury), push during play, bump or other minor interaction, slide tackle, or slide tackle with injury will not be considered fighting.
- In the event of a fight, on or off the field, if any of the players throw a punch they are ejected from the league forever(Adopted August 31st, 2016).
- If only one man is fighting, (no retaliation from the man attacked) then only the aggressor is ejected from the league forever(Adopted August 31st, 2016).
- Any player currently on the probation list for fighting is eligible to play.
- If a two-man fight turns into a melee, (three or more men involved) the game is over and both teams lose by forfeit.
Red Cards:
A Player is Shown the Red Card if They Commit Any of the Following Seven Offenses:
- Using offensive or insulting or abusive language and/or gestures
- Receiving a second caution in the game. This is the most common reason for being sent off.
- Serious foul play
- Spitting at an opponent or another person (e.g. a fan or an official)
- A player other than the goalkeeper denying an obvious goal scoring opportunity by deliberately handling the ball
- Violent conduct, such as throwing a punch
- Denying an obvious goal scoring opportunity to an opponent moving towards the
player's goal is an offense punishable by a free kick or a penalty kick
- Beside the below suspensions for accumulated red cards , the referee will determine suspension length for a single red card depending on the infraction.(Adopted September 1st, 2010), and (Adopted April 13th, 2011)
- If you receive a red card on the field, you must leave the field and your team plays a man down for the rest of the game.
- If you receive a red card off the field, this counts toward your red card total.
- For each red card that you are given, you will be fined $10. You must pay the fine before you can play again. If you are found to be playing without first
paying the fine, it will be doubled.(Adopted April 22nd, 2016)
- A red card is followed by a two(2) game suspension
- A second red card is followed by a three(3) game suspension
- A third(3) red card is followed by a suspension for the rest of the season,(minimum of four(4) games).
- If a player does not leave the field quickly and peacefully after receiving a red card, additional cards may be issued.(Adopted September 11th, 2002)
- Red card policy applies for the entire season. If you can not server your full red card suspension during
the current season, the balance will be served the following season.
- If you can not serve your red card suspension due to a canceled game, you must sit out the following game or games.
- If a player or manager receives a red card, they are expected to leave the field and Herrick Park as quickly as possible. This means you pick up your
equipment and leave the Park and change in the parking lot.

Yellow Cards:
There are seven different offenses that can get players a yellow card:
- Anything that can be deemed as unsporting behavior
- Dissent by word or action
- Persistent infringement of the laws, for example, a series of fouls
- Delaying the restart of play
- Not retreating the required distance at a free-kick or corner
- Entering or re-entering the pitch without the referee's permission
- Deliberately leaving the pitch without the referee's permission
- A yellow card is followed by a 2 minute ejection from the game **Team plays a man down for 2 minutes**
- If a goalie receives a yellow card he is ejected from the game for 2 minutes and must leave the playing field **Team plays a man down for 2 minutes**
- For each yellow card that you are given, you will be fined $5. You must pay the fine before you can play again. If you are found to be playing without first
paying the fine, it will be doubled.(Adopted April 17th, 2021)
- Two yellow cards in one game equals a red card. You will sit out 2 games due to yellow/red cards.(Adopted August 31st, 2016)
- A single yellow card in a game will carry over to the following games.(Adopted April 18th, 2006)
- For every even number of accumulated yellow cards, you will be suspended from playing the next scheduled game.(Adopted April 18th, 2006)
- Accumulated yellow cards apply only during the regular season.(Adopted April 18th, 2006)
- Accumulated Cautions(Yellow Cards) — Regular Season: Any player(s), coach(es) or other bench personnel who has received a total of two(2) cautions in one season shall be suspended and shall not participate
in the next regularly scheduled game. Two(2) additional cautions(Yellow Cards) shall result in additional one-game suspension.
Each two(2) additional cautions(Yellow Cards) shall result in additional one-game suspension. If the total is reached in the final regular-season game of the season, the player(s), coach(es) shall participate in the first postseason game
and/or the first regularly scheduled game of the next season if his team does not participate in postseason play.
- A player has accumulated a total of two(2) cautions(Yellow Cards) and wishes to play in the next regularly scheduled game.
RULING: Players accumulating a total of Two(2) cautions(Yellow cards) shall not compete in the next game.
- A player enters a game with an accumulated total of two(2) cautions(Yellow Cards) and proceeds to receive an ejection(Red Card). RULING:
The player’s team plays short and it becomes illegal for him to compete in the remainder of the game in question and the next two(2) regularly scheduled, including postseason, games.
The player also continues to carry two(2) cautions(Yellow Cards) for accumulation purposes.
- A player receives a caution(Yellow Card) and a second card(Yellow Card) in the same game.
RULING: The player shall be charged with one card (yellow) with reference to two-caution accumulation system and one card (red) with reference to the two game ejection accumulation system.
- A player receives two “yellow” cards in the same game. For accumulation purposes, how many “yellow” cards does the player have?
RULING:One(1) It is impossible to accumulate more than one “yellow” card per game since the second card issued to the same person in the same game shall be red card.
- A player enters the game with an accumulated total of one(1) caution(Yellow Card), proceeds to receive a caution(Yellow Card) and then later in the game receives an ejection(Red Card).
RULING: Upon receiving the ejection, the player’s team plays short and the player is ineligible to participate in the remainder of the game in question, and the next two regularly scheduled games, including postseason games.
(The player shall sit out two games for the ejection(Red Card) and concurrently two(2)-caution(Yellow Cards) accumulation.
