Tortorella Pools scores first

two 30 minute halves would be played with the teams having a 8-8-8 record against each other. Hampton FC Pool Shark come out fast with a strong attack against Tortorella Pools. Hampton FC had many on goals shots, one went off the cross bar and other was a chest save by Tortorella Pools goalie, Craig Caiazza. Tortorella Pools on attack seemed short on strikers and was missing the half field game. Few on goal shots were taken by Tortorella Pools.

About 20 minutes into the half, Danny Salazar of Hampton FC pushes down Stiven Orrego of Tortorella Pools inside the goalie box. A penalty kick is given to Tortorella Pools which is taken by Nick Escalante, who blasts the ball into the net. After this goal and during the early part of the second half, Tortorella Pools tried to slow the game down and in the end, it did not work.

Hampton FC ties the game

During the second half, Hampton FC had some very good shots at the Tortorella Pools goal but their goalie, Caiazza, did a great job keeping his team in the lead. Hampton FC was able to tie the game when Fabian Arias hit the ball into the center of the Tortorella Pools goal. Standing there all alone was Gehider Garcia, who kicked the air ball into the net to even up the game. After this, Tortorella woke up and started to have a stronger attack.

Hampton FC wins in last three minutes of overtime

Since everyone was tired due to the heat, it was decided to play two 10 minute halves instead of the normal 15 minute halves. During the first overtime period, Caiazza, made several extraordinary saves to keep his team in the game. One save was a point blank shot. No one was able to score in this half.

The second overtime was played with action at both ends of the field. Tortorella Pools on a fast break pushed the ball to David Rodriguez as he was standing right in front of the Hampton FC goal. Rodriguez could not handle the ball well and lost it. With about three minutes left before the penalty kick shootout, Hampton FC on the counter attack has the ball fired near the mid field line toward the Tortorella Pools goal. The ball is high with Gerber Garcia of Hampton FC standing maybe 5 yards from the go Garcia heads the ball but Caiazza was unable to block it as it goes past his hands into the net to give Hampton FC and later the spring 2018 championship.
